The Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspects in connection with the decomposing corpse of a lady found under the bed of a hotel at Sapele. The lady identified as Abina Isaac, was found dead in Ebis Hotel in Amukpe area of Sapele earlier this month. Her father is Ghanaian and mother from Delta State. Spokesperson of the command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, who confirmed the arrest to newsmen but did not disclose the identity of the suspects, said; “We got him through his phone number that took us to Abuja where we apprehended him and from there we brought him back to Delta,” Onovwakpoyeya said. “The politician is currently helping us with investigation towards unraveling the true cause of the incident. We are detaining him at the Sapele Area Command, and we shall transfer the case to Asaba (State Police Command) once we are done for prosecution,” he added. The Government says the Islamic Movement of Nigeria does not recognise the authority of President Muhammadu Buhari as President of Nigeria. The Federal Government has accused the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky of having a plan to turn Nigeria into an Islamic State.  The government said this in its response to a motion filed by Islamic Movement of Nigeria to challenge its proscription. Recall that in July, the government proscribed the Shiites group following its incessant protests in the federal capital territory (FCT). Recently, IMN members clashed with security operatives in Abuja while protesting to demand the release of their leader. The protest l ed to death of a police boss and a corps member serving at Channels Television.  In a 56-paragraphed counter-affidavit deposed by Deputy Commissioner of police in charge of operation, FCT, Enyinnaya Adiogu, the government said IMN members do not recognise the authority of President Muhammadu Buhari.

A statement by the University’s Director of Public Affairs, Dr. Ismail Shehu stated that the law students were kidnapped along the Abuja-Kaduna highway. The statement reads, “ Three students of the Faculty of Law were kidnapped on the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway. “Yes, it is true that our students, three of them, from the Faculty of Law have been kidnapped. “But efforts are being made by the University, and parents of the affected students to secure their immediate release.” You’ll recall that in May 2019, bandits in Zamfara attacked Government Girls Secondary School , Moriki in Zurmi local government area of the state and kidnapped six people. The gunmen also abducted two teachers of the school and four women who are nursing students, according to a report by BBC Hausa.

A former Abia state governor, senator representing Abia North, Orji Kalu, says if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were to be a company, he would own 90 percent of it. On Tuesday, A 30-year old Pastor Nwabueze Anaka of the new generation churches in the area allegedly stabbed his mother, Mrs. Grace Anaka to death in Ifite Oraifite in Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra State.
