Former governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha, has denied speculations that that he and some members of his family were arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Okorocha made the denial in a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Mr Sam Onwuemeodo in Owerri, on Thursday. The ex-governor said in the statement that the EFCC was not at war with anybody and would have no cause to witch-hunt him; adding that he would honour an invitation by the commission for any possible cause. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC ) has said that it will on Friday, May 31, 2019, arraign the official of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board ( JAMB ), Philomina Chieshe who claimed that the missing N36 million (Thirty Six Million Naira) JAMB proceeds in her custody was swallowed by a snake in the board’s Makurdi, Benue State office. Chieshe will be arraigned alongside five others, namely: Samuel Umoru, Yakubu Jekada, Daniel Agbo, Priscilla Ogunsola, and Aliyu Yakubu before Justice Peter Afen of a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja. Chieshe is being prosecuted by the EFCC on an eight-count charge as a result of unanswered questions regarding the financial status of JAMB e-cards supplied to the Benue Zonal office between 2014 and 2016. Disney is likely to pull out of Georgia if the state’s anti-abortion legislation becomes law. CEO of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger recently opened up about his film and TV studios vacating the state as a production hub if the heartbeat abortion bill goes into effect. The bill seeks to ban abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected. It would be “very difficult to do so,” Bob told Reuters about remaining in the state. “I rather doubt we will,” he added. “I think many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard. Right now we are watching it very carefully.” Disney’s Marvel division in the state is involved with movies like Black Panther as well as four upcoming series.
