CUPP claims knowledge of 5 appeal court justices penciled to hear Atiku’s petition (see alleged list)

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) on Tuesday, March 12, claimed that it had come in contact with a list of five-member justices of the appeal court ‘programmed’ to hear Atiku Abubakar’s petition.

Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have agreed to contest the results of the recently held presidential election that produced Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a second term.

According to the CUPP, the five justices were endorsed by the presidency to handle the petition, Daily Independent reports.

CNPP’s Ikenga Imo said in a statement that the list was “which was intercepted by our credible insider informant during conveyance from the Villa back to the Court of Appeal, was drawn from a list of eight justices submitted to the Villa for approval.

“Nigerians will recall that we had earlier raised alarm over the donation of a senatorial ticket to the husband of the president of the Court of Appeal by the APC.

“We had questioned the rationale behind such donation when he did not participate in the primaries if not to secure the assurance of his wife, the president of the court, to constitute with the approval of the presidency the panel that will hear any petition challenging the outcome of the elections.

“It was also a failure to secure similar assurances from the Chief Justice of the Federation (CJN) that led to the onslaught on him by the federal government as the honourable chief justice had insisted on doing only justice and nothing else.”

CUPP listed the justices to include:

1. Justice Zainab Adamu-Bulkachuwa, presiding judge and president Court of Appeal and wife of the APC senator-elect from Bauchi

2. Justice Abdu-Aboki

3. Justice Peter O Ige

4. Justice JS Ikyegh

5. Justice SC Oseji.

The CUPP thus demanded that Justices Zainab Bulkachuwa, Justice Aboki and Justice Peter Ige excuse themselves from the panel.

At the time of this report, there had not been any official reaction from the All Progressives Congress or the presidency over this claim.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the spokesperson of the APC presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo, on Tuesday, March 5, said the team did not seek to stop Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from going to court.

Keyamo, in a statement obtained by Legit.ng said the presidential campaign council was not the body that asked Atiku not to go to court.

Sóller hike followed by a healthy vegan lunch

We got a group of friends together (of various ages and fitness levels) to hike around the hills surrounding the Mallorcan town of Sóller, in the northwest of the island. There are many quite easy trails but usually, it involves a bit of hiking up and downhill. We began our walk at the first roundabout after the tunnel and climbed for about 25 minutes uphill after that it was reasonably flat for the next hour or so. The final part was decent into the town of Sóller where we had booked a private vegan brunch for our group. Barbara and Martjin opened Ecocirer in March 2018 as a vegan hotel with 6 bedrooms in the town of Sóller. It is the ideal accommodation for a family celebration if you would like to enjoy healthy vegan food with plenty of activities to get you out into the beautiful nature surrounding the picturesque town.
