R. Kelly is not showing up to court.
The 52-year-old musician, who is facing several sexual assault allegations from women and young girls, did not attending his status hearing on Wednesday (October 30) in Chicago, Ill.
The reason, reportedly according to his lawyer Steven Greenberg, is because he has an infected toe, and feared that it might be stepped on while being transported to the courthouse from the Metropolitan Correctional Center.
He was reportedly excused after his lawyer told Judge Harry Leinenweber that he lost his toenail due to the infection and is wearing a walking boot to cope with pain.
He faces sex trafficking charges, sexual assault and child pornography charges in several cities around the country. He maintains his innocence and pled not guilty earlier in the summer to all charges.
