This is disclosed this in a statement by the Peter Afunanya, spokesman to the agency

The statement reads

“This is to confirm that Salihu Tanko-Yakasai is with the Department of State Services. He is being investigated over issues beyond the expression of opinions in the social media as wrongly alleged by sections of the public,”

The Security Agency had earlier denied that Tanko-Yakassai was in their custody.

The DSS Kano State Director, Muhammad Alhassan denied arresting him as he said;

“we have not arrested or even invited Salihu, don’t forget he is our friend, sometimes, he advises us on issues of critical Security situations in Kano”.

Nigerians have however taken to social media to blast the agency over their inconsistencies in handling security issues as regards arrest of citizens of the country.
