Five months before the death of his wife Helen McCrory, actor Damian Lewis was mourning the loss of his nephew.

New details were just released in the death of Hugo Yaxley, who died in November 2020 at the young age of 20.

Hugo passed away in a car crash and it has been revealed in a new Daily Mail report that he was driving on the wrong side of the road at the time of the crash.

CCTV footage of the crash, which we are not posting here, shows Hugo‘s car smashing head-on into a Range Rover. He reportedly shouted “s–t” before the the collision happened.

It was reported that the reasons for Hugo driving on the wrong side of the road are “unclear” and the passengers in the car reportedly didn’t realize the error either. Hugo‘s girlfriend broke her back in the crash and there were two other passengers as well.

Damian wrote a message about Hugo after his death. He said, “The recurring theme talking to people about Hugo, is that, for one so young, he leaves an incredible legacy. He truly inspired people of his generation, through his own bravery, to be more confident and open about their mental health. This is an extraordinary thing to have achieved by the age of 20. He’s touched more people in his short life than most do in their longer ones.”

We’re sending our thoughts and condolences to Damian and his loved ones while they continue to mourn the tragedy.
