This is the driver’s first victory since 2009, and also his fourth overall.
He now joins A.J. Foyt, Al Unser Sr. and Rick Mears, his former mentor, as the only four-time winners of the competition. Rick Mears was the last driver to join the exclusive 4-time winners club in 1991.
The Brazilian race car driver also won in 2001, 2002 and 2009.
“I love Indianapolis! You guys don’t understand it! The fans, you give me energy,” he said while celebrating, via Deadline.
Dancing With the Stars fans might also know him as the winner of the fifth season of Dancing with the Stars with professional dancer Julianne Hough in 2007, as well as a contestant on the show for its All-Stars season in 2012.
