Kataluna Enriquez Makes Pageant History, First Trans Woman to Win Miss Nevada USA

Kataluna Enriquez is making history.

The 27-year-old pageant star was crowned Miss Nevada USA on Sunday (June 27) at South Point Hotel Casino & Spa in Las Vegas, making her the first transgender woman to win a competition in the pageant’s history.

She beat 21 other contestants in this year’s competition.

“Congratulations to our new Miss Nevada USA @mskataluna đź‘‘ History made!” the pageant declared on their Instagram, along with a photo of Kataluna in a rainbow dress with her new crown and sash.

“Huge thank you to everyone who supported me from day one. My community, you are always in my heart. My win is our win. We just made history. Happy pride,” she wrote on her own Instagram.

“In honor of pride month, and all of those who don’t get a chance to spread their colors. ❤️🧡💛💚💙” she wrote regarding her own custom-made dress with her clothing line, KatalunaKouture. She previously won Miss Silver State 2021.

She will now be competing for the Miss USA title this November. Congratulations, Kataluna!

Jussie Smollett is unlikely to return to Empire during the upcoming sixth season, but he is still showing support for the Fox series. The network just announced that the show has been renewed for a new season , but Jussie ‘s character Jamal will not be in any of the early episodes. His contract has been extended for the possibility of a return in the future. A representative for Jussie released a statement with his reaction to the news.
