Disney is firing back at Scarlett Johansson after she filed a lawsuit against the studio over the release strategy for Black Widow.

Disney just released a statement in which they slammed Scarlett‘s decision to sue them and revealed that she has already earned $20 million for her work in the movie.

“There is no merit whatsoever to this filing,” Disney said in a statement (via Variety). “The lawsuit is especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Disney added that the company “has fully complied with Ms. Johansson’s contract and furthermore, the release of Black Widow on Disney+ with Premier Access has significantly enhanced her ability to earn additional compensation on top of the $20M she has received to date.”

Scarlett recently talked about initially being turned down for Black Widow and she opened up about the actress who originally received the role.

We recently learned the salaries that some of our favorite Marvel stars have been making for their superhero movies.
