Jennifer Hudson Kicks Off 'Respect' Promo in Martha's Vineyard

Jennifer Hudson steps out for the special Respect screening and reception during the 2021 Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival on Thursday evening (July 29) in Edgartown, Mass.

The 39-year-old actress and singer spoke to the crowd about the upcoming movie, where she portrays legendary Motown singer, Aretha Franklin.

Jennifer also showed off one of the fabulous dresses Aretha once wore for a performance and spoke to the small get together about the flick.

The event came just before MGM released a brand new clip from the upcoming movie, which is out on August 13.

Respect will chronicle Aretha Franklin’s rise to fame from singing in her father’s church choir as a child to becoming an international musical superstar and legend.
