Executive produced by Julie Plec, the upcoming series is based on the young adult paranormal romance novels by Richelle Mead.

“It’s a story about two young women who have been friends since the sandbox,” Julie shared during an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “As they grow up and get closer to entering real society, what society dictates about what their roles are supposed to be threatens to put a wedge in the success of their friendship.”

Sisi Stringer will play Rose Hathaway, a vampire-human hybrid knows as a Dhampir, and Daniela Nieves is Lissa Dragomir, a Royal Moroi vampire.

Julie added of the series feel, “We talk in the writers’ room about how we really want to make sure that episodically we hit the friendship and the romance and the palace fun, but we also really want to have our kind of Game of Thrones palace intrigue. I thought, ‘This is modern-day Bridgerton with vampires.’ Who’s not going to want to see that?”

Alongside Sisi and Daniela, the series will also star Kieron Moore, André Dae Kim, J. August Richards, Anita-Joy Uwajeh, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Rhian Blundell, Jonetta Kaiser, and Andrew Liner.

Here’s who they’ll play:

- Andrew Liner will play the charming, loyal and popular Mason Ashford, Rose’s main competition in the quest to become the number one Guardian-in-training. Though their relationship is casual on her side, he is hopeful she will finally look at him and see him as something more.

- J. August Richards will play Victor Dashkov, a Moroi noble vampire with a heart of gold who’s highly regarded for his role as advisor and political strategist to Moroi dignitaries. He’s a fierce loyalist who uses his intelligence and influence to protect that which he values most: the well-being of his husband and two adopted daughters, as well as the betterment of his Moroi community.

- Kieron Moore will play Dimitri Belikov, the model of a Dhampir guardian: lethal, disciplined, discreet, and totally committed to his role as bodyguard to the ruling Moroi, the “good,” mortal vampires of his world.

- Andre Dae Kim will play Christian Ozera, a Royal Moroi vampire who is also the pariah of the school and royal court, due to his parents’ unforgivable societal sins.
- Anita-Joy Uwajeh will play Tatiana Vogel, a Moroi vampire and political underdog who slowly takes the royal court by storm.

- Mia McKenna-Bruce will play Mia Karp, a witty, cutting and non-Royal student who has a long-term plan to social climb her way into the ranks of royalty – -though it is complicated by her instant chemistry with Meredith, a Guardian-in-training.

- Rhian Blundell will play Meredith, a smart, strong-willed Dhampir who has little patience for Rose’s volatility or Mia’s elitism.

- Jonetta Kaiser will play the quiet, careful and decidedly odd Sonya Karp, who sits out on the fringe of Moroi society and s taken by surprise when a Dhampir Guardian named Mikhail shows interest in her.

Trade booster: Working with Finance Ministry to ease export credit, says Suresh Prabhu

Trade booster: Working with Finance Ministry to ease export credit, says Suresh Prabhu Export credit provided by banks fell sharply by about 51.3% to Rs 22,300 crore as of September 28 from a year earlier. The commerce ministry is closely working with the finance ministry to ease credit flow to the export sector, commerce and industry minister Suresh Prabhu said on Tuesday. “One of the main challenges for export is finance. There is a decline in (export) finance, so we have taken up the issue with the finance ministry…I think, the finance minister is also looking into this (as in) how we can improve the credit flow into the export sector,” Prabhu told reporters. Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) President Ganesh Gupta has been seeking adequate credit to exporters on grounds that lack of adequate loans would crimp the growth of exports. India’s exports have been hovering around $300 billion a year since 2011-12, without substantial growth. Read also |  World’s highest...

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state has claimed that his administration inherited a minimum debt of N150 billion, adding that his administration is still checking the books to determine the actual total debt. Governor Makinde made the claim in a media chat on the state television on the occasion of his one month in office, The Nation reports. It was gathered that the governor threatened to expose his predecessor, Abiola Ajimobi , if he does not keep quiet about his (Makinde’s) administration. He said: “ We have confirmed N150b debt so far. We are still working to discover any other one. Some of them may be questionable. If you take bond, it is always tied to a particular project. If we want, we can do value-for-money audit.” According to Makinde, Oyo state receives N4.5b federal allocation while salaries and pensions stand at N5.5b, leaving the state with a shortage of N1b.
