Jamie Spears Suspended as Britney Spears' Conservator

Jamie Spears is officially suspended as his daughter Britney Spears‘ conservator amid allegations of abuse.

The father of the 39-year-old Glory pop superstar was told by Judge Brenda Penny on Wednesday (September 29) in a court hearing that he is suspended as her conservator.

“It’s simple, it’s logical, it’s fair and it’s just. She doesn’t want a settlement with her father, she doesn’t want mediation with her father, she doesn’t want delay,” her new lawyer Mathew Rosengart said in court.

Back in June, Britney made an impassioned plea for help in court, calling the conservatorship “abusive.”

Her lawyer previously called out Britney‘s father’s recent petition to terminate the conservatorship.

Mr. Spears’s desperation to avoid suspension is self-evident and self-serving. He wants to escape justice and accountability (but will not) and he will evidently do or say anything to avoid it,” her lawyer said.

“He knows that when he is suspended he must turn over the conservatorship files, including purported attorney-client privileged documents (communications with his lawyers), to the new temporary conservator.”

A CPA has been appointed as a temporary co-conservator until at least December 31, but it is expected that the termination process will go into full effect after the next hearing within 30-44 days.

Jamie Spears is now expected to hand off all files relating to the conservatorship in a timely matter, which her lawyer has previously indicated will be thoroughly investigated.
